Welcome to Dialogue in Nature. Walking together in nature helps us to connect to each other and the earth. Nature is a wonderful therapist. In the next 5 minutes you can take four easy steps down the path to restoring our planet. 3 videos to watch, and two minutes to consider a tree..
First step!
This tells you about the study of dialogue walks in nature with psychotherapists.
Step 2
This tells you what we found. How dialogue works!
Step 3
This shows you why this is important. In forming and informing our relationship with nature.
Consider a tree
Find a tree and stand with it
Now think of three words which describes it. It’s height and colour and shape for instance.
Pause, and now feel the essence of the tree. What might it be saying to you. What might you say to it. Take 60 seconds to be “with” the tree. Think of three words that express the treeness of it.
These are quite different words, right! That is the difference between thinking and feeling.
NB this will be codified into an app, so that people can participate in building word clouds which highlights the difference between these two.
Now the website will suggest organisations and ways that are local to you to continue your dialogue walking journey..

Walking forward together
An example of an organisation to work with and connect through to
The Presencing Institute (Home | Leading from the emerging future ) is part of free outreach from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). It aims to bring their work on systems thinking and dialogue to help with social transformation. The 3 minute film below describes it’s Theory-U programme. Their aim is to help us to work TOGETHER to change from “egocentric” to “ecocentric”. This is consistent with dialogue with nature.
